Tramway

The line A of tramway has 28 stations on both banks of the Penfeld and its total length is 14.3 km.

Timetable

Tramway A is in operation : 

  • from 5am to 11.30pm Monday to Saturday,

  • from 7.30am to 11.30 pm on Sundays.

There are departures every 6 to 8 minutes during the day, and it takes around 40 minutes to cover the whole line.

Route

The tram operates across all the major business areas of the Brest métropole : Iroise, Phare de l’Europe, l’Hermitage, Kergaradec and Les Portes de Brest-Guipavas business parks, via the main high streets, Siam and Jean-Jaurès.

From the terminus Porte de Plouzané, it goes through the following districts: Fort Montbarey, Kerourien, Vali Hir, Queliverzan, Recouvrance, Town Centre, Pilier Rouge, Pontanezen and Europe.

On the east side, Porte de Gouesnou (Kergaradec business park) and Porte de Guipavas (Froutven business park) are the 2 terminuses for tramway A.

On the west side, the terminus for Tram A is the Porte de Plouzané station.

    Tramway replacement line

    When a part of or the whole tram line is out of service (if the Pont de Recouvrance bridge is raised, the overhead cables are being serviced, incidents or accidents, etc.), a replacement bus service will be provided across the Bibus transport network to take you to your destination.

    Lors d'un arrêt total ou partiel du tramway (maintenance, entretien de la ligne aérienne de contact, incident ou accident, manifestation, etc.), des bus de remplacement prennent la relève sur le réseau de transport Bibus afin d'assurer la liaison vers votre destination.
