Brest is a port city in Brittany, northwestern France. It is bisected by the Penfeld River. The city is known for its rich maritime past and its naval base, Brest indeed benefits from maritime sites (beaches of Moulin-Blanc, beach of Sainte-Anne-du-Porzic) but also from many green spaces of which the valley of Stang-Alar which shelters one of the most prestigious botanical conservatories in the world.
